Congratulations to her excellency Quentin Bryce for her selection to be Australia’s next Governor General.
And I’m sure she’ll do a fantastic job of representing Australia and proving the worth and talent of Australia’s women too!
A begrudging congratulations to PM, Kevin Rudd for finally putting a woman into Australia’s top spot; and to Brendan Nelson for not turning her appointment into a political football. I wonder if Ironbar Tuckey will not be seen in the House when her excellency Quentin Bryce gives her first address to the House of Representatives?
Anyway, now we can work on an Indigenous Governor General (if the Republic idea doesn’t get off the ground) or an Indigenous Prime Minister.
