You see in Australia we seem to have a problem acknowledging that there were original inhabitants of this land before Captain James Cook planted the Union Jack. And it’s taken over 200 years for an Australian government to apologise for any of the wrong-doings caused by white invasion. But you see while a bunch of people have come to this great big land and have prospered, our Indigenous Australians have been marginalized and neglected.
But with things like PM Rudd’s Sorry there has been renewed efforts to close the gap in health, in education, and in respect. So some folks thought they’d get together and do something about it while there was an opportunity.
You may have heard about a new song that is hitting the airwaves at the moment – From little things big things grow. Well it’s not a new song but Paul Kelly along with a group a talented people produced a new version of this wonderful and emotional song. The song, yes it’s still called From little things big things grow, is inspirational and has been re-released to raise much needed awareness and funds to close the gap.
But for this to be huge success it needs people downloading the song to make it Australia’s number 1 song in the pop charts. So please make this song number 1 so we can keep our national healing continuing and close the gap!
