I write this post after having been a candidate for local government on 3 occasions. The last two being for the same ward as the endorsed Greens candidate, and the first time being for a Shire Council in Queensland as an independent. Reflecting on election results as a candidate can be fraught with danger as there is the tendency to play down certain things and play up other things. However, rather than explore the results of the Brimbank City Council elections I will discuss my reflections on polling day itself.
