The term ‘slacktivism’ is bandied about from time-to-time without really considering what it really means. It’s often used by slack mainstream media shock-jocks and morning hosts like it’s a ‘cool’ term to make them look hip. More annoyingly, it’s used by long-term heavy internet users that really should know better.
As the minority Labor government settles in and things are relatively back to normal, I think it’s a good time to look back at the effectiveness of the online battles fought during the federal election.
There’s just over 6 weeks before Victorians head back to the polls, this time to elect their next state government. If you’re not enrolled to vote then you won’t be able to have your say on who governs Victoria. My advice is to check your voter enrolment status and do it now!
