Climate Action Within Reach

This week marked another historic step towards laying the foundations for action on climate change.

Last month I posted about my support for the carbon price package and urged people that visit my blog to also get behind the package. Well now it starts getting real.

The Opposition decided to leave, en masse, from the Chamber as the Prime Minister rose to start to introduce the first of eighteen (18) pieces of legislation that will see the introduction of the Clean Energy Future package. As disappointing as it wass to witness our democracy get treated with such contempt by the Coalition, it’s more exciting to know that our country is finally doing something about reducing our greenhouse gas emissions.

The package, as I’ve said before, isn’t the greatest but I’ve been campaigning a long time for action on climate change; and putting a price on pollution. And I welcome the carbon price package because we must urgently reduce our greenhouse gas emissions; we have to start somewhere.

I want a more green and sustainable future and this is the first steps towards that future.

So get behind the Greens, Independents and the Government and support the carbon price package.

You’ll be sent an email with your poster in PDF format; given the opportunity to email your local MP with your message; as well as the ability to share it with your friends.
